About Leanne

Planetary Press & Publishing was founded by me, Leanne Murner, a global award-winning author, international speaker, mentor, entrepreneur, passionate storyteller, and proud mum of five boys, based in the Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia.
I’m best known for my multi-award-winning children’s books, each created with the intention of educating and inspiring young readers around wildlife preservation and regeneration in Australia, permaculture principles, and conscious awareness of the world around us. At the heart of everything I create is a deep belief that stories have the power to shape how we see ourselves, each other, and the world we live in.
My books have received both national and international recognition, including:
'Franki and the Banksia', which won the Nature category award at the prestigious NYC Big Book Awards 2021.
`Oliver and the Eucalyptus Tree` Finalist in the Book Excellence Awards in the children's Education category in 2022.
`My Hollow Home` Gold in the MMM Press Awards - Children's Education in 2022 and Bronze in the Global Book Awards in 2022 and Distinguished Favorite NYC Big Book Awards 2023.
'Butterfly Whispers' Distinguished Favorite NYC Big Book Awards 2024.
Alongside writing my own books, I’m deeply passionate about mentoring aspiring authors and creatives. I support people from the very first spark of an idea through to becoming a published author, offering guidance grounded in lived experience. I know firsthand how overwhelming the publishing journey can be, and I’m committed to helping others avoid common mistakes and move forward with clarity and confidence.
My work extends beyond publishing alone. Through mentoring and creative writing, I help people reconnect with their inner voice, creativity, and personal power. I believe writing is not just about producing a book — it can be a powerful tool for self-discovery, healing, and transformation.
I’m currently working on my own memoir, a young adult novel, and a guided journal called Rewild the Self. This project was born from my desire to help people slow down in a world filled with screens, constant information, and endless distraction. Rewild the Self is a gentle invitation to reconnect with your natural rhythm through reflection, journaling, and simple, grounding practices — encouraging presence, creativity, and a deeper connection with yourself and the world around you.
To support this vision, I’ve brought together a trusted community of experienced editors, illustrators, and publishing professionals who understand both the challenges and the joy of bringing a story to life. Together, Planetary Press & Publishing exists to nurture creativity, honour authentic stories, and guide authors every step of the way.
